I am thankful to have the support of my wonderful parents, sister and brother in law, nieces and many many friends.
Hi my name is Lauren Ritchie and thanks so much for taking the time to stop by my profile. I am a 30 year old who was born and raised in Ventura, CA. I was diagnosed with breast cancer (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma) on March 20, 2014 after finding a lump in my left breast while changing. What was first thought to be a golf ball sized tumor we now know is 5 cm and of an irregular shape. So far I have had an MRI and biopsies with more testing and scans before chemo can begin. My cancer is believed to be Stage 2 or 3 at this point, but is unknown until I have surgery. I will undergo approximately 6 months of chemotherapy prior to surgery as well as radiation post-surgery. So I will be bald and beautiful! I am optimistic that I will come through this with flying colors and that I am in the capable hands of my doctors. I am thankful to have the support of my wonderful parents, sister and brother in law, nieces and many many friends. I know support of all types will be essential in my recovery.
I am excited to have been introduced to such a great foundation as the young and brave. They are doing so much good for so many people and It is even better to find in my own town and community. Thanks for any kind words, good vibes, thoughts and prayers, helpful advice and donations in advance. I am forever grateful and promise to pay it forward when presented with the opportunity.
